As I’m slowing down my writing, and publishing fewer pieces, I am finding myself grappling with some frustrations in regard to time/timing. These lists, once finally published, feel so outdated, even though I have been working on them for only a week/completed them less than a week prior to publishing. It is interesting to see the different ways slowing down pushes at our social indoctrinations.
These frustrations are also a reminder that our feelings are fleeting, never constant except in changing, and how rapidly life can and does change for us.
Social media puts demands on us to “stay relevant” and share our thoughts and opinions before we can really sort through them. This desperate desire to stay in the spotlight grows from our own childhood abandonments and our social conditioning that says “fame” equals power, and having “power” somehow keeps us safe.
