We are complex & contradictory beings
We can celebrate a shift and grieve the loss it defines at the same time.
We can be pleased with a transformation and sad about what was is gone because of it.
We can feel excited to see what the future unfolds and terrified of it in the same breath.
We can miss them and be glad they are gone.
We can crave and long for their company while savoring our quiet and solitude.
We can be torn between two conflicting and contradictory wants.
We can ache to be consumed and possessed and also covet our independence and autonomy.
We can be pleased we are appreciated and resentful we are relied upon.
We can be ambivalent and overwhelmed with passion and love in the same moments.
We can be wild and untamed while also being domestic and responsible.
We can laugh while deeply grieving.
We can feel lost and fully find ourselves.
We can know the holiness of our demons.
We can heal parts of us we thought were broken forever.
