Wants, needs, capacity
An irony of trauma, is that often it comes to us via our primary relationships, and the way to processing and healing our trauma is also via relationship(s) with the significant people in our lives.
I also believe that one of the ways we come closer to our Self, our core being, is through relationships with others. It is through our relationships that we can begin to learn about some of our wants, needs, likes, dislikes, and desires. It is in our relationships that we learn to express (and defend) our boundaries and to respect others boundaries. It is in our relationships we learn to communicate, with both care and maturity. It is through our relationships that we can practice regulating our nervous system, looking at our harmful relational patterns and cycles, and doing the work of being and doing differently.
