There will be people who enter our lives, who we never saw coming, but once they are here we can’t remember what life was actually like before them. Some of these people will leave, and we will grieve, and for a time wonder how life can move forward with out them, even though it does, day after day. Eventually, with enough distance, we can see things more clearly, we can acknowledge the magic that was them while also acknowledging the harm they brought too. Maybe we can get to that place where we wish them well, cherish all the beauty that they brought, and also not want them back in our lives.
Some people though, some people stay. For months, years, even decades. They are Our People and we learn and grow with them. They help us push ourselves out of our own comfort zones, encourage us to face our demons, provide loving support in those times we don’t know how or don’t want to go it alone.
