Sometimes we...
stay quiet.
don't voice our dissent.
play small.
follow all the rules.
Sometimes we...
feel lonely and alone.
don't feel good in our own skin
aren't confident in our knowledge
apologize for taking up space, breathing, existing.
Sometimes we...
feel tired to our bones
want more, different
are terrified but know something has to change
know we need help.
And then sometimes we
seek out our kindreds
search for the tools
look deep within
and then know.
We have strength beyond measure.
Power beyond comprehension.
Daring beyond our wildest dreams.
Right here within us. Right now.
We only need to acknowledge it, embrace it, love it up.
To shed our stories of how we don't matter, aren't worthy, aren't deserving.
To dislodge the lies that live with in us that claim we are too much, we are not enough, we should be so ashamed.
To dismantle our cultural training to be tame, leashed, obedient.
To step into our own agency, our own autonomy.
