SCH 10 :: Being present
Being present has many layers and levels.
It is being aware of our inner experience.
It is being aware of our environment.
It is being aware of other people and the events and conversations that are taking place.
And.
It is engaging in all of these things in the now.
Being aware of our experience is important. Being able to relatively objectively observe ourselves, our surroundings, and the goings on around us is part of what feeds our own inner and outer sense of safeness and connection.
However, being aware is an observational state. It is a watching state. It is a looking within and outside.
Being present, is taking this awareness a step further and actually engaging in what we are observing.
