We are coming close to election day here in the United States. Over the last few weeks, as the date looms closer and closer, I have sat with both friends and clients, holding the space for anxiety, fear, frustration, resignation, grief, and a myriad of other emotions that have been bubbling up. The realization of the reality of the propaganda of “the lessor of two evils” is hitting home for more and more people. The truth that our “leaders” don’t actually care about us, the general public, their constituents, has become so clear, blatant, and obvious thatt it is nearly impossible to not see. This is leaving so many feeling both hopeless and helpless about the future to come.
A truth is, in many ways it does’t matter who wins the presidential election. It is unlikely that much will change for most of us in our day to day lives. We will still be struggling to make ends meet. We will still be afraid for the safety of our physical bodies. We will still be living with chronic stress…
