Personal growth can look different for different people and different parts of our lives. The work that was necessary to get us to where we are today varies for each of us. For some this included therapy or physical movement or creative endeavors or mindfulness or a combination of any of these or none of these. It could have included embodiment work, breath work, writing, talking, meditating, getting into nature or not.
Regardless of the ways we came to be where we are now, there were others who were with us on the journey, who supported us or didn’t, influenced us in one way or another, who may have said a thing out of hand that deeply impacted us. These people could have passed in and our of our lives briefly, or they may have stayed for most of our life or some significant portion of our life.
As we continue on our journey to our Self, our shifting will show up differently and sometimes seeing it or knowing it can be challenging. The people who come into our life, who we allow in, will also be different and this different can feel strange and even wrong or bad.
An invitation is to remember that most change, growth, shifting will have at least aspects that feel not right, even though they are right. This is because change, new ways of being in the world, in relationship, is not what our brains or nervous systems know and understand. Some examples of things or aspects or people who may feel wrong or odd or off and that are actually the direction we want to go in:
