Shifting our ways of being in the world takes work. A lot of work. Often hard, painful, frustrating work. It is a process that always takes longer than we want and also can happen in a relatively short period of time. It is in no way a linear process and there are no prescribed simple one-size-fits-all steps for us to take that guarantee the breaking of (often generations old) patterns and harmful cycles.
Because this is a process, and not a particularly fun or easy one, it is important for us to find ways to nurture and nourish ourselves. In fact, it could be said that learning to nurture and nourish ourselves is an important part of the process.
But what does that mean? What does it mean to nurture and or nourish ourself? How do we figure out ways to care for ourselves that aren’t harmful and will promote our healing and transforming?
Like the journey itself, this all looks different for each of us, and can look different at different points in time. And there are some basic aspects, that while the details may look different, the general themes are the same.
