Grounding in Grace was an online program I offered in 2013 and again in 2014 (!!). I have chosen some of the content from this program to share here and have edited and modified as appropriate or necessary. These exercises are great for those just beginning their somatic/embodiment journey, and are also great reminders for those who have a regular somatics/embodiment practice.
Today's mindfulness exercise is different from our previous ones. Today you need a partner. Your partner can be your romantic partner or your child or even a beloved four-legged friend. Enjoy.
Connecting To Another's Heart Exercise sequence
1. Ask your partner if you may listen to his or her heart. If your partner says yes, move on to step two. If you partner says no, find a new partner ;)
2. Place your ear to your partner's chest, where his or her heart is.
3. Listen for 15-30 seconds.
4. While listening take in one or two slow, deep and intentional breaths and allow your body to settle and release.
