EWR : 02. Compassion in Liminal Space
Embodied Writing : Relating, Relationships, & Trauma Series
There will be three kinds of material in this course. The first, like the one last week, will be an introduction of what will be explored over the next three weeks. The second, like today’s, we will rest in the liminal space between acknowledging a pattern, setting it down and then reclaiming our own truth and moving into a different way of being. The third kind of email, (the first of which you will see next week) is focused on reclamation and reconnection with our Core Self.
It is important to allow for the in-between spaces. For the time when we aren't actively releasing or reclaiming, unearthing or planting anew. A time for passive integration of what we have learned, of allowing the open space for what we have let go.
We can look at this as a time of rest, and also I want to be clear that it's not a time of doing "nothing." Integration of new ways of thinking and being takes time, energy, and most importantly intention. Taking this time to allow this space is part of "the work;" it is just as important as the unearthing and planting new.
Notice how it feels to be in these in-between spaces. How does it feel on the days between receiving new content, new exercises? Notice how your body responds to the idea of not actively doing the work. Notice what stories start to race through your mind about rest. Simply notice. No need to do anything about any of it. Notice, become aware, allow the awareness to settle in.
