Now we reclaim our bodies, our lives, this present moment.
A truth is, this moment is literally all we have. The future, no matter how many plans we may have is an unknown and not here. The past is past, and while I believe it is important to look back on our lives from time to time, staying in the past all the time isn't helpful.
When we are able to come into our bodies, we are then able to become more present in the rest of our lives, and in this moment now.
And I believe we must start with our bodies. With learning ways to calm and regulate our systems. With reclamation. With learning how to tolerate all the sensations and emotions we have. With acceptance of our body how it is, in all its messiness and imperfections, not with how we wish it was.
The key, embodiment, opens many doors, including how we are able to relate to others, to our environments, and to other aspects of our Self. It is not an easy process nor do I believe we need to be fully in our body every second of every day. …
