EW Shame :: Reclaiming our voice
We now come up to the second gate.
When we passed through this gate on our descent we set down the things that held us back from using our voice.
Now as we pass through this gate on our ascent, we claim our voice. Our voice as ours. Our voice as coming from us, not through us from others. Our voice to speak our truth, to tell our stories, to allow ourselves to be seen and heard.
Your voice matters. The world needs your voice.
And while the world does need your voice, your perspective, your wisdom, your knowing, you also need to know and feel and believe that your voice is important.
Your voice needs to be important to you.
After I graduated from grad school and got my license to practice therapy, I wasn't sure where to go. I wasn't sure how much of my own story I should share, because as therapists aren't supposed to share our personal story. I wasn't sure where my voice was
