EW Shame :: Reclaiming our connection to Self
I define connection as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship. ~Brené Brown
We move next to the fifth gate, the place we set down our distractions.
I'm going twist or expand Brene Brown's definition above. While I agree with it whole heartedly when we are talking about relationship with another, I also deeply believe we can take this definition and apply to our relationship with our Self.
When we allow ourselves to listen to our bodies, our minds, our spirits and souls; when we value all aspects of our Self; when we can give to our Self and allow ourselves to truly and deeply receive it; then we can be connected and we can feel our own immense inner strength and can sustain our Self when we need and want to.
I'm not talking about relying only ever on our Self. We need community, we need communion with others.
