EW Shame : Entering the Underworld

We are now entering the Underworld.  Naked. Vulnerable.

Inanna made the journey to the Underworld to be with her sister, Ereshkigal, to hold space for her as mourned the death of her husband.  However, Inanna wasn't so great at holding space, and angered Ereshkigal, so Ereshkigal killed Inanna and hung her on a hook to rot.

It sounds so gruesome, and it is, I guess.  However, consider the Jesus too has a story of being in the Underworld for three days.  We can also look to Persephone (who spends six months in the Underworld), and even other myths where being dead is actually a means to rebirth.
